Thanks to this board and Hunters Mom  I made connections with this organization. They have monthly IEP informationals (w/ pizza!) I went to one and learned SO MUCH! I really reccommend connecting with them if you live in the Bay Area. Their office is located in Berkeley.
There was a lot of information on parents rights when it comes to the public school system. I heard a lot of horror stories from parents who were already in the system so I am glad to be getting a head start on this "job" of IEP meetings and special education.
Visit their website too, as it has a ton of information on the rights of people with disabilities in general.
