Well they still do not know what is wrong with Samantha. Today they did an upper GI series and a G-tube study and all is fine with that. Tomorrow they will be doing a gastric emptying study. The OT came in today and worked with her and said she has severe oral aversion (like I have NOT been saying that for the last 2 months). But even though my baby girl was in pain she did for the OT and the Nurse what she does at home, so at least they know what I am talking about. Most of her feeds are by g-tube right now. I hope they have some answers soon and some practical solutions. The little resident today tells me...well I think we should feed her 20cc every 2 hours by mouth. I said, you have got to be kidding, It takes her 1 1/2 hours to take 30by mouth and 30 by tube as it is, I said I do not get any sleep now, there is no way I can do that.. and you know what her response was. Well you have to do what is best for your child. OOOOHHHHH I wanted to hit that B****!! I said you know what the reason WHY she weighs as MUCH as she does is becasue I have been going without sleep and feeding her round the clock. OOHHH let me tell you if I was not inthe hospital I would have HIT that lady. I could not belive her, if they would have done things right the first time I wouldnt be even in the hospital. Ok thank for letting me vent. Hopefully I know more tomorrow after this study. Elizabeth

Is Samantha still screaming after the feeds? It must be so hard to watch. How are your family coping with you being away so much?
I'm glad at least you are able to come here and vent. Thanks for keeping us all updated. Prayers will continue......

Oh Elizabeth,
I know your frustration with doctors. They only see the clinical side and what THEY think is best for the baby. Hang in there. You sound tired, try to get sleep, Samantha needs your strength now. When I tuck Alysa in bed tonight, I will give her an extra squeeze and kiss that is sent to Samantha. Want me to brew an extra cup of coffee in the morning for you? (LOL) Best of everything to you both. Keep us posted on her progress.

Elizabeth,
I am so glad that you are keeping us posted on "Our" little angel Samantha. Please vent all you like. I too feel a venting session coming on. Let me see if I can make it through the day without needing to unload. lol
In the mean time. Try to get some rest. Know that your burdens are carried by a higher power and sleep a bit.
Oh, and I would have wanted to hit her too....
Give Samantha a hug for me. And tonight when I see Mya, we will send hugs and kisses and angel love your way.
Sally

Sally,
Unloading on your keyboard and on us is a perfectly sensible and healthy thing to do. Trying to hold in all the stress and emotion is not. So go on, let us have it!! We don't mind a bit. It sure is better than taking it out on the cat. (Although I'm not a bit fond of those whining furballs).
