We started Payton on her Nutrivene last night. She just turned 3 months old. She got her very first dose last night around 8pm and we gave her the nighttime formula around 10pm. She fell asleep until about 5am, woke up to eat, fell back asleep until 7am and got her first dose at 8am. Second dose at 1pm. She was awake from 7am until 4pm, when she took a 1/2 hour nap. THIS IS NOT NORMAL FOR HER TO NAP HARDLY AT ALL. She typically will sleep every day until noonish, and then sometimes even in the afternoon. She is then up in the evenings. I know some of you started your kids on Nutrivene when they were around Payton's age...did you notice this lack of sleep? I know there was some talk about it keeping them awake at night, but I never expected this. Thoughts?

We don't use the nighttime formula yet - may start with next order - but i have heard the timing is important. I think a lot of parents give it in the afternoon. You may want to ask at the group DSTNI. But the regular formula has not affected Eliza's sleep at all.

We do the night time formula for Carson. He was already sleeping from around 7 pm to 7 am before we started and nothing has changed. You may need to start her gradually on it. I did not notice any difference in Carson. I did start the day formula gradually. I started with about a fourth of the morning dose, then added night, then upped the dose and added afternoon. Maybe that had something to do with it if you gave her all of the vitamin formula the first time. I really don't know.

I know a lot of people that had trouble with the nightime formula, and we did as well. We discontinued it after a couple of weeks. Angela has enough trouble sleeping, I didn't need to add more! ROFL

Make sure you are starting it on a gradual basis!! That's a big time thing to make sure you do. They also suggest that you start the daily supp and gradually increase it to the regular amount she should be getting over a week or so. Then, after she is used to taking the full does of the daily supp (after a few days to a week), slowly start her on the nighttime formula.
We didn't see any change in my brother's sleep, besides he started sleeping a bit more, like his sister (non-DS), since he was always awake, it seemed.

Gee, that was great to know! Nice that the big Dr. L told us that! I emailed him actually and told him the same as I have on this thread and asked if I should be concerned. He said, "Not at all. Just her brain waking up more." Well heck, that is some good stuff b/c she seriously has only slept a half hour ALL DAY and has been SOOOO alert. She just fell asleep...hopefully for the night! I'm not giving her the 3rd dose or the nighttime formula. I am going to work up to it even though Dr. L still didn't say anything about that.
