Oh, Nathalie, I am so dreadfully sorry. It hits home to me b/c Eden is only a few days older than Benjamin. Wow.
Seriously, this is one of my biggest fears. I feel like I am always waiting for the other shoe to drop as far as leukemia is concerned.
I will pray for you, that God will heal Eden and will comfort you as you go through this.

Oh sweet Nathalie, I am so sorry to hear this. I will be praying for you and darlin little Eden. I will be praying that God gives you what you need in these times. I will be praying that His hand is gently wrapped around you and sweet Eden in this time. I know that He is holding you in the palm of His hand. Believe that with me sweetie! Believe that with me! My heart breaks that you have to go through this. I am so sorry. I do know this, He promised He would never leave or forsake you. My prayer for you, is that you can feel Him with you, and know that He will never leave you! Please give little Eden a hug from MaryEllen and I. Love, Di

Prayers that this next round knocks out the leukemia completely. And I'm sorry about her hair. When the hair goes it makes it all seem more real somehow. You'll get used to her little bald head in no time.
Someone else has probably already asked you this, but just in case they haven't, have you looked into taking time off from work under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)? My husband was able to take time off for John's hospitalizations. The restrictions might not apply to you, but it's worth looking into.

Thanks everyone.
Ann- yes, I think you're right about the hair making it seem more real. Before this happened whenever I would hear about kids with leukemia the first image that popped into my head was little bald children. So knowing she is about to be one of those little bald children is surreal. Particularly because her hair has been a hallmark trait of hers since birth..she's always had a ton of it and people have always commented on it. Of course, she has other hallmark traits like her sweet personality and gorgeous smile...and her hair will grow back.
Thanks for mentioning FMLA. Yes, it is available to me here but it is unpaid leave which really isn't an option for us right now - particularly in light of medical bills. Thank goodness we do have excellent insurance but there are still deductibles and copays to cover. I am eligible for 4 weeks of paid vacation so I will use that time first and then if I need additional days I'll start using FMLA days. Luckily I can take them as needed rather than having to take a bunch of time at once so that helps. Plus my boss has been very understanding and has proposed I work from home more often if needed (I already worked from home once a week and now it has gone to twice per week...but I may add another day). This at least puts me closer to the hospital so that I could maybe stop by for breakfast and lunch during the day. Or I would probably work from there...they have wifi. We'll see how it goes.
