Just wondering when Edna Massimilla wrote this poem? I've had a copy of it since 1975-- my sister-in-law gave it me when she was a teacher in NJ., when I was thinking of going into Special Ed.--( Which I Did! ). This poem has been memorized by me since 1975, which is why I'm puzzled by Edna's 1981 copyright. Is this truly her piece? As my poem's recollection, it had pertained to a male child also.
Please let me know, as I often give this poem out to student teachers, parents, peer helpers, etc. I'd like to give credit to where credit is due. Thanks, Mary Schmidt
