Tom,
I have found it hard when wanting to search the archives of this forum to find what I'm looking for...and a lot of what I search for are diffent health or therapy topics. Could there be a way to catergorize the health and therapy topics? I'm not into web design, but here's my vision: I click on "Health Topics" and then I have another option screen, ie: Heart Topics, GI topics, Feeding issues, Eyes and Ears, ect... or therapy could be catergorized into PT, OT, ST, and other???
Or would that be too complex? Maybe it is easier to have just the simple topics...I don't know, what are your thoughts? I'm still a newbie here...

I was just thinking of something like this. I know we ask similar questions & have to look for stuff. Since everyone has great ideas on different things they use. like a topic area for resources.
For example: (l) lotions that work best for rashes or the cheek redness, there are so many products but the best ideas are here. (2) constipation answers (3) websites with good feeding products or toys (4) potty training tips (5) health issues just to name a few.
Setup labeled as (just thinking)
Lotions
Constipation
Cool websites
Heart answers
Ear/hearing questions
Then the ones who know that area will not miss it.
Then each one could have a name, like how you have "who we are" or "posting a picture".
Does this make any sense?
**disclaimer- I have been sick the past week so if nothing makes sense I'll blame it on the medicine.

I'd like to hear more ideas on this so anyone else who has ideas please put your 2 cents in (or your 2 pence).

This would be great! It would also be great to have the following colums:
Frequently Asked Questions
A place to come for frequently asked questions for this forum
(Then the posts could consist of the following threads)
[*] How to post pics on posts
[*] How to post pics on Signature block
[*] How to post video clips
[*] Etc...
Frequently asked questions would be very benificial to all the newbies.
Common Health Issues
A place to come read about and post common health issues of children with Down syndrome
(Then the posts could consist of the following threads)
[*] Skin problems
[*] Red Cheeks
[*] Heart Topics
[*] Potty Training
[*] Etc...
I know there is already a Specialty Topics area, but there's not a 'common' area where new parents can just read about commun issues. General is a bit overwhelming to weed through.
Inspirational Websites/Poems/Song/Videos
A place to post and read about inspirational things about people with Down syndrome
[*] Carson Proo
[*] Garth Brooks Video
[*] Karen Gaffney
[*] Etc..
Just some ideas. Hope it's not too much!
Thanks again Tom, this is my favorite place on the web and it means so much to me that it's here.
I know I'm new, but if you're ever in need of Forum Moderator (not sure what it consists of), but if you need one. I'd be glad to volunteer.
Thanks again!

Thanks Jenna you made sense out of what I was trying to say. Again I blame it on the medicine.

Michele you're welcome... although I have to be honest... I didn't read your post. I'm so sorry, I'm just a big nerd in a rush today. Sorry about that.
I've read it now and I love your idea for topic area for resources. That would have been great for my red cheek post!

I don't think people realize this topic is going on in here.

Sound slike a good idea. Another thing I was thinking about was a "My Story" section maybe devided up into prenatal diagnosis, at birth diagnois and 3 month + diagnosis. The posts would not allow comments and could be linked to the user profile. Could maybe be expanded to include Heart Surgery stories, and other major health issues.
I'm sure a lot of people coming here looking for stories.
