Re-Introduction

I originally signed up 3+ years ago. Then life got crazy! We were awaiting Benjamin's heart surgery (ASD repair) at that time and had to keep putting it on hold due to chronic ear infections. After having adnoids removed and tubes put in his ears, the heart surgery was done when he was 14 mos. old. It turned out that he had 2 holes, one on top of the other, with just enough heart wall left over to patch it. He was discharged from the hospital after the repair (against my voiced objections - I knew in my heart that something was terribly wrong!), only to return 2 days later by flight to be admitted into PCICU on a vent for psedumonus pneumonia. We got him home three weeks later. He has had several serious hospital admits since then and most have been at the errors of medical personnel. What I want to convice everyone with this is..........Listen to your parent heart! I promise you it knows!!

Along the way most of our family could not handle it and vanished. An adpoted brother located us and stuck tight thru it all. My husband was fired due to time away from his job. We lost our home and eventually our cars. Yet we lost nothing! For we have our Bemmers and our 2 other children!! For us, that is the only thing that mattered then and today.

Despite it all, this little guy's determination to make it is stronger than anything I know! Medically he is fine now! Our biggest worries are keeping up with him and keeping him out of mischief! We no longer fool ourselves and believe we can stay a step ahead. This child out energizes our 2 teenagers.

I look forward to picking up where I left off 3 years ago on this board. I look forward to learning, and hope that I have learned enough to share.

Quick question/request for advice.......I would like to learn how to post his picture. Any advice?

Hi welcome back. Glad that Benjamin is keeping you all on your toes. It sounds like your priorities in life are right on track, sorry that you've had to go through so much though and hope brighter days are ahead for all of you. I'm Jen mom to Brock who is 13 months old, our first and is doing great. To post a picture go to the photo section - there are directions on how to use photobucket.

Welcome back! I'm so sorry to hear about the health and personal issues that you and your family have had to endure. I love your attitude and spirit, it will always get you through the rough patches. I'm glad to hear that your son is doing so much better!

Welcome back. Sounds like you guys have been through a total nightmare but your positive attitude is awesome!!!!

I would love to see pics so here is a link to an explanation of how to post pictures. http://www.downsyn.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=16676

If you can't work it out, pm me and I will try in my technologically challenged way to explain how to do it. (My eldest daughter does all my pics for me )

We have been through some stuff and lost everything we owned and most of our friends along the way so I can relate a bit. In times like that you truly grasp what is really important.
