Hi Nikki
Welcome to yet another PA person. My name is Stacy and I live in DuBois, PA. I have 9 month old identical twin boys with DS. We are only the fourth set of identical twins with DS in PA in the last 20-25 years so we're pretty unique. I have family from Port Allegany/ Coudersport area so thats not to far from you is it??
Get through the NICU period, get your precious Samantha home and love on her like you did your other children. I had one twin here in the DuBois NICU for 6 weeks and the other was in Pittsburgh Childrens NICU for 11 1/2 weeks, so I feel your emotions right now.
You certainly have stumbled upon THE BEST support group online you will find for Down Syndrome. We're all here for you.
((((HUGS))))

Welcome Nikki, Your children are beautiful. My Katie also had Duodenal Atresia, We found out 3 weeks before she was due also at the time that she may be Down syndrome. Katie had her surgery at 2 days old and came home 3 weeks later.I also have a 18 almost 19 year old son, Actually Katie will be 4 tomorrow. We are very blessed to have Katie in our lives.

Welcome, you will find this to be a soft place to fall - some days it will be exactly what you need.
Samantha is beautiful, congrats on her arrival. She will add so much to your family.
Our son Wil was in NICU for one month. It was very difficult - the newness of everything, including the diagnosis - but you get through and soon it is a faint memory, paling in comparison to the profound love and tenacious commitment you will develope for you baby.
Looking forward to hearing more about all of you.

Congratulations on the birth of lovely Samantha, she will bring you alot of joy, i am mum to Abbey who is 28months old, and brings nothing but laughter and happiness to my hubby and our other children..
One thing i regret is not snapping out of the shock sooner while i was in hospital with Abbey, i have hardly any cute photos and no video....
So take heaps of photos....

Congratulations on your new addition and welcome to the site! Sounds like you have already made it through the hard part with the surgery! I hope she recovers quickly and she will be in our prayers! You can learn alot from this site and since you live in PA you aren't that far from lots of people on this site! Including me, we're from Philly! Looking forward to hearing more about your family and your precious Samantha!
