HI, MY NAME IS NORA AND I HAVE A 4 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WITH DOWNSYNDROM. JENA IS MY EVERTHING. I WOULDNT BE WHO I AM TODAY WITHOUT HER. JENA WAS BORN 3-8-04 DIAGNOSED WITH HER DISABILITY AND CONJENITAL HEART DISEASE. AFTER 3 MO OF NIC AND PIC U'S I BROUGHT JENA TO MY EMPTY HOME ABOARD CAMP PENDELTON (MY TROOP WAS SERVING HIS FIRST TERM IN IRAQ)AND STATRED TO LIVE A VERY DIFFRENT LIFE STYLE. SHE HAD AN N-G TUBE (FUN) THAT SHE ALWAYS SEEMED TO PULL OUT UNTIL ONE DAY I DECIDED SHE WOULD EAT OR STARVE AND SHE ATE. BETTER INFACT WITHOUT IT.WE WENT TO DIFFRENT TYPES OF THERAPY STARTING AT 6MO OF AGE AND CONTINUING TO THE PRESENT. JENA HAD OPEN HEART SERGERY TO CORRECT AN AV CANAL DEFECT AT FIVE MONTHS,AND WE HAVE BEEN HAVING THE MOST FUN EVER SINCE. TODAY SHE IS 4 SOON TO BE 5 IN MARCH, SHE ATTENDS PRESCHOOL AT THE LOCAL ELEMENTRY SCHOOL IN TOWN WE NOW LIVE IN HEMET. JENA'S FATHER IS NOT IN THE PICTURE SO WE ARE ON OUR OWN AND LOOKING FOR SOME NEW FRIENDS. HOPE WE CAN MAKE SOME. THANKS FOR HEARING OUR STORY AND LOOK FORWARD TO TALKING WITH YOU.

Welcome Nora and Jena. I'm so glad you found us here. This site is wonderful and full of information, laughs, encouragement and shoulders to cry on. Looking forward to getting to know you better. By the way... we live in Orange County, not far from you and dh spends a lot of time in San Diego (he's there right now!)

*Ahem* And Nora forgot to mention as she so lovingly says "We were trailer trash together". LOL
Nora and I grew up in the same neighborhood and I was good friends with her sister Jill from the time we were REALLY little. When I sent Jill pictures of Kennedy not long after she was born Jill KNEW without me even telling her and said "You have to call Nora!!" So we got back in touch and have been talking about old times and sweet babies Very Happy

. Just WAIT till you guys see Jena's picture, she's amazing!!!
