I was so proud of Justin this evening. We left my parents' home to come home and I decided to go by Sears to get a new iron. Justin is never happy when I change the route. I talked to him about it before I did it. I let him know that I needed a new iron so I can iron his clothes for school tomorrow. He was more than happy to go when he realized it was for his school clothes. He is loving school. We were able to go through Sears without a show and get what I needed and leave. He was such a big boy about it.

It's funny but he sounds just like me when I was younger
I would only want to go to the stores when I was going to get something related to me, so my parents would tell me I was able to get two items from the grocery store, whatever I wanted (ofcourse within a reasonable range) and I spend the hour while my mom was doing groceries, deciding what I really wanted. Hey it worked for me

Way to go! I foresee our son being a lot like this. I think it shows very good reasoning ability on Justin's part!
It is a blessing when your child loves school. My oldest is ADHD/LD.
Her love for school has carried her to the point she is on target in 10th grade. Our 8th grade son could care less about school, his grades often reflect it, and he is quite capable of wonderful things but his lack of love holds him back.
I'm willing to bet Justin excells!

I am praying that this is the year that Justin does excel. I feel that he is a bit behind of what he could be doing. It is sad that our school does not push for our special kids to be in regular classes. He is in a self-contained class all day. He is supposed to be going out for PE and art. Maybe dance and music too. I am not sure. But it is not consistent. I am going to be pushing hard, because I know he needs the push.
