my pt told me to put a blaket around elias's chest/stomach and hold him in the air, only barely up from the floor, so he cant put his arms and knees on floor and so he can do the crawling movements. i've been doing this for a month, not all days and not that much and he has kind of learned the movments, but still he just doesnt put by his own in 4 points
im just wondering if someone had use this for them to crawl... or if u had used another thing. or just work balance ..
tahnk you =)

I have used the blanket as well, but what I find my boys seem to respond to better is putting them upon the Boppy Pillow, I put their belly on the pillow with their hands ahead of them and I bend their knees and let them watch Signing Time and they will sit there for about 15-20 minutes before they know they are supporting their weight on their hands and knees.

We used the blanket with Hannah but it was to keep her belly off the ground. We used it so her knees and hands touched the floor and then slowly moved her forward with it Left side then right so as to mimic crawling.
Hannah was smart and caught on to what we we're doing. She eventually got to the point where she would stiffen straight out like a board! We had to give that up and went to the stairs to get her to creep.
Good luck and hope I described it right about the blanket.

When Clara does a push up, I tuck her knees under and hold her hips or middle. Sometimes I have to put her hips between my thighs like this so I can support her shoulders or she'll drop them to the ground. I gently rock her back and forth so she gets used to the weight. I also put a pillow in front of her and set her kneeling on her knees to get her used to the weight. She didnt like it at first so I went real slow. Now she sleeps on her belly with her legs tucked and will tuck her knees under her without help when we play like this. I'm starting to move her arms and legs in a crawling motion while Daddy calls her to get her used to movement and to stop looking at the ground. I never wanted to do this, I always thought this was pushing but I've learned she needs the help. She just can't do it without the extra help, no matter how much she seems to want it.
