Hello to everyone...well, everyone who reads this message. If you don't read this, I guess you won't know that I've said hello. But then again, you won't know that I didn't say hello either...
Anyway, I'm a new dad on this board. My wife has been posting for awhile...she posts on several and has a lot of experience. I'm new, and it hasn't been something I've been all that excited about, but maybe that will change.
We have five children, and our youngest, aged five months, has DS. It's really something new for us. The baby is doing well, a few things have happened recently, medically speaking, but we don't have any bad news yet. Maybe we will in a few weeks.
I look forward to becoming more involved in this Forum, especially if there are other dads out there who wish to communicate this way...but not just dads.
Best regards to all,
Roundadobehouse

Thanks for the welcoming words.
We went to a party today for a two-year-old with DS. There was a 4-year old boy there, also with DS. It's good to get together with other families who have experience what we're going through. I think the hardest thing is the uncertaintly of the future. So far, Sophia has done quite well...but there's a lot of water to go under the bridge yet, so to speak. For me, it's not the fact that she has DS that is so difficult, but that there is so much unchartered territory...waiting for the other shoe to drop.

WELCOME!!! I HAVE A 7 MONTH OLD WITH DS. MY HUSBAND READS AND SOMETIMES PUTS HIS 2 CENTS IN. THIS FORUM GIVES ALOT OF SUPPORT AND INFO. YOU WILL LIKE IT.
DITTO ON WHAT YOU SAID IN YOUR LAST POST. THERE ARE SO MANY TIMES THAT I READ POSTS AND FEEL EXACTLY THE SAME WAY. IT IS SO WEIRD TO KNOW THAT OTHER PEOPLE FEEL THE EXACT SAME WAY THAT I DO. ITS LIKE THEY ARE TAKING THE THOUGHTS RIGHT OUT OF MY HEAD. ITS COMFORTING TO KNOW THAT WE ARE NOT ALONE IN THESE FEELINGS.

Welcome to downsyn. Our little Talitha is 10 months and we have gone through heart surgery, 3 months of pneumonia and just recently an operation to insert a g-tube (she was fed by nasogastric tube before that). It has been a big learning curve but she is such a delight. She makes people happy wherever she goes.
My hubby doesn't post but he keeps track of what is going on through me and sometimes looks over my shoulder. There are a couple of blokes that post on here though and I'm sure they'll catch up with you eventually.
This is a great place for information and support. Hope you keep in touch.

Welcome to Downsyn, I'm sure you already know what a great site this is. My son was already 2 when I joined the forum, but there is still a lot of information and support shared on here. I love it.

Hi there,
Im a dad that posts aswell.
My daughter Kimberley is 2 in December and i joined these forums the night my mrs had our daughter as i needed to know LOTS as soon as possible...(or so i thought).
Anyway, this place was a comfort to me and i still drop by and read but dont often post. (I get intimidated by all these strong personalities)
Good luck and i hope all goes well with ALL of your family.

A belated welcome!!
Soooo, I take it you have a round adobe house. How wonderful. I have friends here in Australia who are nearly finisheed building an adobe style house- looks fantastic and soooo different than the surrounding rural architecture. Locals refer to it as "that castle looking place". Have you built it yourselves?
