hi all,
just found out maya is wheat/gluten intolerant. i've bought some products that taste horrible, so i need some help please. anyone know any particular brands of bread, cereal, pasta etc that your little ones like? she's such a picky eater as is, so i'm really stressed out right now

I bought this spaghetti by accident once and we all loved it so much that i now buy all their pastas and we aren't even watching our gluten intake. It cooks really fast so that's one thing to watch for, but both my kids love it and can't tell the difference.

We just had another test today and are awaiting results. We have not tried a lot but the Glutino pretzles are good. Also tried Erewhon crispy brown rice cereal- it tastes just like rice crispies. EnviroKidz is a pretty good line too. They have some cereal that is just like kicks and some good cereal bars. That forum has a whole section on food that people have tried and also on regular food that is gleutin free. It was a great place to start. Also there was a pretty good chicken nugget I bought- kind of pricey -$5.69 for 12 nuggets but Hannah ate them right up. It think they were Evans brand.

I have not had to deal with Celiac's - but I live in Iowa and a friend was talking about Celiac's and said that a local radio personality has created a cheese crust pizza which is ok for people with Celiac's to eat. Here is the website:

Hi Mayas mom well I am from the UK but I would expect your major supermarkets would be on par with similar products here, so I was thinking perhaps they have a similar range as what Bryan use to like from Tesco's called the 'Free From range' the pasta is scrummy both my kids love it, Bryan was Lactose and gluten intolerant so used a lot of soya products to replace dairy. I found it helpful to do an Internet shop with the main chain supermarkets as you usually have a whole section on food intolerant produce and I certainly discovered a lot of products I wouldn't of dreamed of such as some yummy cakes and cookies that Bryan loved. Furthermore their stock never run out as in some of the smaller health food shops. OMG I sound such a hypocrite about supporting the small personal shops and I do if I can Yet here I am promoting supermarkets but when needs must, Bryan comes first. Well good luck it can seem a little limited at first but it becomes second nature after a while also there are some fab sites out there for people and kids who have certain food intolerance's and have a list of recipes eg muffins etc.

Kennedy likes the cereal called Bumpers... they have lots of different flavors and she eats it as a snack. The graham cracker flavor is the best IMO but she likes it all!
