I have heard that teeth don't start coming in until more like 12-16 mos. Don't quote me on that. haha

Sitting unsupported is another one that seems to be very different from baby to baby. I am attaching a ds milestones chart that I came across. I am not sure how accurate it is but at least you can get an idea. (I hope that it comes through)

A bumbo is a seat that is designed to help children who cannot sit on their own yet. It holds them up while supporting them in all the right places. Her is a pic of Natalie in hers. You can buy them online, at target and I am sure at babies R us.

3 mos.

5 mos.

I hope this helps. Very Happy

Talitha started sitting a couple of months ago. I don't know whether it was because of using the bumbo but I am pretty sure it helped her develop her trunk muscles. I got a bumbo from e-bay but you can get them from specialised baby stores. When we got ours the only supplier was in Sydney but that has probably changed.

Each kid is different though. At the DS group we get to sometimes there are babies there around Talitha's age who can't sit unsupported but are almost crawling, or can push right up on their arms. She is a great sitter but hates her tummy and will lie face down grumbling rather than pushing up on her arms. Go figure. My other kids were all walking/running etc by her age so I can't even go close to comparing them.

She also has no teeth but has been showing signs of teething for around a month. She will chew on almost anything. It would be great if she could transfer her enthusiasm for chewing her clothing and paper to actually eating food!! Confused

Blake is likely to surprise you now he has had surgery as it gave Talitha a new lease of life. She was so much stronger post-surgery.

Oh!!!! my goodness is Natalie sooo cute in her Bumbo chair.

Anthony sat up at 61/2 months but really mastered it by 7month. I sear he has been teething every since. We have no teeth yet either. I am surprised as my other typical kids had them already. If you don't know those teeth can come in the wrong order. Anthony keeps chewing on the back left side of his mouth. I am just waiting for those teeth to show up.

Wow - 3 months, that's pretty early. We don't have any teeth yet either and David was 10 mos on the 12th- but everyone keeps telling us not to worry about it, later is better they say- who knows? One of my sister's children got his teeth late and know he's getting his second set late. He's in first grade and hasn't lost a tooth yet, where as most of the kids already have lost one or more. He is just dying waiting for a loose one Laughing
David just mastered sitting unsupported within the last month, and I have to say that I believe if I hadn't waited to start him in the bumbo chair, he would have developed some of his muscles earlier and had a better head start, but I waited on the okay from my Ei teacher. Starting them out in short increments - 10 - 15 minutes at a time, a couple of times a day is a good start, you don't want them to slouch in it, because then they'll take the path of least resistance and the tool is not as good. The bumbo does have great positioning, as long as the child is the right size
