San Antonio, TX Schools info???

so, I'm brand new to the site. My family and i are currently living in Okinawa, Japan (air force) but we will be moving to San Antonio in January.
I have the wonderful opportunity to research the area and the schools prior to buying our house and i'd like to find out which schools/districts are good/bad. If you have any links with useful information that would be appreciated, or your personal experiences if you do or have lived there.

So far we've been lucky living overseas for her schooling and having DoDDS(Department of Defense Dependent Schools). It might take a little effort with them, but they always give in before it comes to lawyers Smile. Now i am dreading public schools after having browsed this forum and seeing all the stories. Ash is fairly high functioning and i'd like to keep her as far ahead as we can, but if i can avoid having to fight with the school by moving into the right district that would be so much easier. thanx for any help that you can give.

We moved to SA about a year and a half ago from PA. I was told that North East ISD was good ,so that is the area we moved into. Im not too happy with it. Ive heard North ISD is good too. I think in the public schools we will have to fight to get the right things for our kids. I do know some of the bases do have school on them so maybe check that out first. Good luck and I hope you find a school you are happy with. My son was moved from one school last year that we liked to another this year that I hate, becuase his program moved.

Welcometo Downsyn and welcome to San Antonio! I saw that your daughter rides horses. There's a place called The Saddle Light Center. http://www.thesaddlelightcenter.com/ Hopefully you can continue that with her! Get ready for some warm weather!!!! Rolling Eyes
