oh dear I ALWAYS read all of the instructions for everything I do, before I do it.
but thanks, I don't feel so incompetent now 
Is this how DH felt the time he put the barbeque together, then found out he had to go behind it to open it up?

As I'm sure your DH would be glad to point out, the assembly instructions were wrong; that's why he didn't bother looking at them in the first place. . . |

DH just works faster than I supervise. Same result though.
