Our Grandson is 7 months old,he says DADA & rolls over.When will he be able to sit up by himself?

Connie, you may miss a lot replies posting here. Maybe submit your question under the Questions heading. Just a suggestion.

Anyway, Alysa began sitting up around 7 months. She is now 9 1/2 months and has accomplished sitting up. We are now working on going from stomach to sitting and sitting to stomach. She says mama, dada, lala, nana, etc. We have even thought we heard her say hi. But I think it is only because we always say hi to her. It really has no association with anything yet.

Every child is different. Peter didn't sit up until he was about 9 months. The best thing to do is to know he will do it one day, don't put a "typical" childs expectations on him. I know for a long time I kept looking at my best friend's son, who is the same age as Peter, and get angry because he was not doing what her son was doing. I am in a much better place now because I see Peter for Peter and love him so much for who he is.

Average age for babies with DS to sit is 11 months. Even many months longer than this would still be considered to be OK for our kids. Your Grandson is lucky to have a grandmother who is so interested and keen to learn.
