Omega 3

Is there another way to get Kayla some Omega 3 besides those fish oil pills? I'm looking for something to add to her milk. She gets a cup of milk with probiotics, fluoride and MSB+ orange and drinks it all up. So, I'm trying to find some way to throw some Omega 3 in there, too.

We give Mikey ground organic flax seed mixed with his yogurt. You can also put it in muffins. Its a good source of Omega-3 and fiber. One serving (2 tablespoons) contains 2400 milligrams of Omega-3 fatty acids and 4 grams of fiber. I don't know of any source of Omega-3 that you could mix with milk.

I've been told the Omega from fish oils is loads better and easier for our kids to process. Matt used to have some capsules from US, but I can't remember what - Nordic Seas or something? - and he took them quite happily in his milk. They were orangey flavour and didn't have any fish taste whatsoever.

Helen is right - Nordic Naturals. It's a mix of fish oil and borage oil. The one we have has a lemon taste. I'm not sure how it mixes with milk. It's manufactured in Norway so maybe Solvieg can get us all a supply! Wink

We use Coromega. It's like pudding-ish consistency, and lemon-lime or orange flavored. Noel will take it straight, but we often mix it in his yogurt.

We are using Nordic Naturals Strawberry flavored and Carson never bats an eye with it. Good luck.

We used to shove a spoonful of the NN children's lemon into Eliza, but that has now become quite a struggle. We mixed in the pudding type into yogurt for awhile until she started rejecting that (have you tasted those? blech!) Right now she loves the NN chewable capsules orange flavor so hopefully this will last until she can swallow a pill or take what her brother takes - gummy omega-3's called omegalicious - http://www.allstarhealth.com/f/rainbow_light-gummy_omegalicious.htm
Now my son is really picky about any off tastes in vitamins or omega 3's. We tried everything and this is the first product he'll take.

We use the Eye Q brand from Boots. A bit dear at 10 pounds a bottle but it lasts awhile. I buy it with their buy 2 get one free vits offer and it works out cheaper. The vanilla is nicer tasting than the citrus one.Dominic will take it straight of the spoon, which is a miracle because hes so difficult with taking things meds etc. Hes had it since he was 13 weeks old.

Alex eats PB sandwiches like there's no tomorrow, so I cut the cap and mix it with his PB on the sandwich. He never notices, even though I think it smells fishy.
