New book discussion - participate or else
Reply with quote

Starting on October 29th we are going to be reading and discussing the book The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon. Even if you have read it you WILL read it again and discuss it in the book forum. So you have 2-1/2 weeks to get hold of a copy.

This book is brilliant for helping to understand the mind of an autistic person. Plus it is wonderfully written and a great story. Anyone who is a regular participant in this forum and doesn't participate will be banned from downsyn forever (not really, but if you do participate I will be happy Very Happy ).

I read it a little over a year ago, but will gladly read it again. It's a great book!

I only ever managed to get halfway through it. It reminds me so much of my nephew who has Asperger's. I'll try to read it again.

I've read it and loved it! It also reminded me of my nephew with Aspergers. I also gave it to my 11 year old to read to help him understand his cousin better - they are great friends - and he read it twice and really enjoyed it too!

OK - where's all this reading time come from?! Shocked I barely have time to get through the local paper! But I'll see what I can do!

Geez, I only just now finished GIFTS! (there's only so much reading you can do in the bathroom before people become suspicious, LOL)

Anyway, the book is ordered, at least!

It is SOOOOOOO worth the read. My sister just recommended it, and WOW! It is a quick easy read, so don't worry about taking up too much time in the john. My husband did get annoyed though because every time I sat down the book was in my hand (a total of maybe an hour a day for 3-4 days). He actually expected me to talk to him in my down time, what's up with that? Rolling Eyes

Get it, read it, you won't regret it!

HEY!
You're not the boss of me. Oh, what's that, Amy? Oh, I guess you are.
I'll look for it. Right away. Yes, Sir.

I'm in. I'll hit the library tomorrow to see if I can get my hands on it. However, reading will have to wait until after Oktoberfest this weekend. Laughing Priorities.

Thank you for making me read a book! It's been 3 years since I've been in our local book group and I forgot how much I love reading. Sometimes we get so wrapped up with the kids, we forget about ourselves.
