Curious Week 2 - Surprised?

In chapter 149, Christopher discovers something about his mother although it takes a little while for him to fully understand and accept it. Were you surprised to find this out or was the previous foreshadowing enough to make you aware of this plot point? Do you think the way Christopher reacts is realistic?

Christopher's reaction totally befuddles me. Yes, I think with the foreshadowing the situation with his mother's death was very questionable, and when the real situation is revealed, it seems very obvious.

I was totally surprised! But in a very good way; I could look back and see it was coming all along and I didn't feel cheated or anything, I felt instead that it was a good lesson in how the appearances of things aren't always accurate.

I mentioned before that I've been reading this book in a very accepting way, as if it were all straight facts, and this switch-up caused me to feel the confusion and alienation that I think people with learning differences might feel everyday. I really liked that part of it.

I don't know what to say about the reaction, other than I just accepted it, I went back to that way of reading pretty quickly.
