Christopher describes his conversations with Siobhan, his teacher at school. What are these conversations like, and how do they compare with his conversations with his father?

Christopher and his father appear to interact only about necessary issues, what to eat, and when Christopher causes trouble, his dad confronts him. Sibhan seems to have a very clear understanding of Christopher's way of thinking and how to explain things to him, and connects with him on a far more intimate level. She clearly impacts him more than his parents do.

I'm liking the Siobhan character the best of everyone! And like I mentioned in an earlier post, I think she substitutes as a parental figure in this story, almost as a stand-in for the missing mother.

I like Siobhan the best of everyone also. She is human in that she says things that upsets Christopher sometimes (like her comment about Christopher carrying around the pictures of facial expressions) but she really tries to learn from her mistakes and make Christopher's life better.
