It looks like people are using a lot of alternative supplements (flax seed, fish oils,..etc) I doubt Nova's pediatrician would have any information for me about this, although it probably won't hurt to ask. But, how are you all determining what supplements to use and how much to use and when?

Hi Dr. Leichtman is one of the guru's of TNI and you can check out his website:
http://www.lleichtman.org/tni.shtml
He used to be in VA and travel and do clinics (one in Danville) but he doesn't anymore and moved to NM. But he is quite active on the Yahoo Groups TNI group. Oakland and Berkeley would hae a bunch of nutritionists who are open to supplements. I would check with Children's Oakland to see if they have any alternative medicine people they work with. What we are using now is a mix of stuff from my own research and that of others as well. I use Dr. L's dosages for omega 3's , longvida ( a special tumeric) and gingko biloba. Then takes regular kids vitamins of C, the Bs, Zinc and D.

Liz, how is the longvida going? My girls are on Nutrivene, and Juice Plus/Omega 3 fills in the gaps for us. Oh, we use Ginkgo too, umm, sort of sporadically. LOL. We also supplement with Vitamin D, but Juice Plus gives them everything else from a whole food nutrition standpoint -- and it has been proven to be bioavailable, whereas synthetic vitamins are not.
