Please. I have a couple of prayer requests for David. He will be having adenoid and tonsil surgery 4.12.10. I pray for a fast, safe recovery.
David has had many surgeries so we are concerned about scarring tissue in his airway.
I pray that his airway is intact, and that removing the tonsils & adenoids can help his sleep apnea, to outgrow his reflux, gain a healthy growth & weight and that he is able to swallow safely and efficiently.
I also pray that his celiac testing comes back negative because he already has many food intolerances.
thank you so much,
katia

Melissa DID gain weight and grow at a MUCH better rate after the T&A. Just wanted to toss that out for encouragement.
Will be praying for a comfortable and speedy recovery.

Praying for David. Talitha has been much healthier since her T&A and has slept better. It was a hard recovery but definitely worth doing.

Thank you. I really appreciate the words of encouragement. I feel a bit anxious. I pray for God to give me more faith that everything is going to be fine. I am just a very nervous person and every time David has a surgery, it takes me back to David's hospitalizations. Please pray for me.

Thank you for praying. As of today David is back to normal.
He did have a 2 week recovery because he got a cold. He was in the ICU, and was readmitted to the hospital because of his cold and swelling.
He was sent home with oxygen @ night.
However, I found out something interesting. It appears David has a small airway and it appears that positioning plays a big role in his oxygen saturation. he had steroids shots and his oxygen saturation levels went back to normal as soon as he got airway treatment and swelling decreased. Then we noticed that while in oxygen, his oxygen sats were still dropping and with correct repositioning, his oxygen was @ 100%
Anyone here has a child with small airway and low muscle tone in the neck?
thank you so much for praying,
katia.

I'm so glad to hear that he's finally back to normal!
When Logan was in the hospital with RSV, I found that his position would GREATLY influence his oxygen saturation levels. Whenever his monitor would go off, the first thing I would do would be rearrange his position. It didn't always help, but often it did.

When Mark was born he slept with his neck craned back. He still seems to like this position and the doctors originally thought he was able to get more air that way. Now he still does this, but it does not seem to effect his O2 sat levels. We have never been told that his airway is small, but we have been told by one doctor that he had a flap of skin blocking his airway and then by another doctor that he did not have a flap of skin - go figure!! Mark has only had one "blue spell" which happened in the NICU. He has seemed fine since so we are going with what we see in him and figure if there is a flap of skin in there he has compensated for it and seems to be doing fine. Sorry that David had a difficult recovery - glad he is doing better!
