I finally got around to buying a copy of "Gifts", which I've been wanting to read for a while. It was great collection of moms' essays about their experiences having a little one with DS (my husband wanted to know why there weren't any from dads!). I recognized some of my own feelings in many of the stories. It was also very reassuring to see how far some of our
"own" DownSyn moms have come on this journey and that they are now able to help others on this unexpected path. I only wish that I had read it a little sooner--

Yes, I found both Gifts and Gifts 2 very helpful. Especially the entries relating to adults with DS as that is where we're headed. Would like to try an get the relatives to read them now.

I wonder if the authors/editors have perhaps thought of a third book ... perhaps with international perspectives? I could see an edition with every entry being from a different country.

So glad you enjoyed the book, what an honor it was to have our story published.

I am thinking the only reason it didn't have dads..was the subtitle, Mothers Reflect on How Children with Down Syndrome Enrich Their Lives.
