Not sure if anyone else has posted about this here.... pardon me if it's a repeat!
We're having a meet-up of DS bloggers, forum buddies, and anyone else who'd like to come! Labor Day weekend is the time, St. Charles, MO is the place (northwest side of the St. Louis metro). We've got friends flying in from WI, as well as coming from TN, KS, and IA as well. Plus of course there are several of us more "local." 
If you are interested in a relaxing weekend of hanging out and visiting with new or "old" friends, hanging by the pool, with opportunity for some fun activities for those who want more action....leave a note here and I'll PM or email you the info on location and details. (We have a great rate at a brand new hotel, too!)

I am DEFINITELY interested!!! Only snafu would be if MIL decides to come then...  Hopefully DH can talk her into coming the week before. I am really anxious to (finally) meet everyone!!!

I am excited too, although I don't want to get my hopes up too much, lest MIL decides to show up. I've waited forever to meet you, and A, and Julie, and RK and EVERYONE!
I'm thinking our girls don't look nearly as much alike as they did when they were babies tho...

We have a few that are bringing a spouse and at least a few sibs, we have a couple who are just a mom and kiddo. In my case, I live here, but my husband will probably be around for very little time with the group. He's just not that social.  I know a couple of the other girls on here who live in the area will have some "single" time and some appearances of a husband here or there. So it will be a little of everything. |

And we are all doing Sunday afternoon at my house! I have a fenced yard and a big tent (thanks to the neighbors that don't use their big tent thing anymore! LOL) to use! We will keep it simple....pizzas, salad, dessert and drinks...and playing and gabbing!
My husband is social...LOL...so he will be here.
Would love to see some of you!!!! Bring the whole families....

We're near Macomb in western IL, which is about a 3 hr drive from St. Louis. (Most of our trips down there have been to see Dr. Lueder at Barnes West. Makes for a long day! )

OMGosh, I am SOOOO excited to see how many people are coming!!! YEA!!!!!! It looks like we will be able to make it!! DH told MIL not to come that weekend... SO, barring any unforeseen issues, we will be there!!!
Do any of you St. Louis peeps know if the metrolink is close to the hotel?? Also, are there any Sheratons in that area?? We have points w/ Sheraton and can get our hotel free, but I don't want to be TOO far from everyone!!
If we end up staying somewhere else, someone please keep me informed of what's going on!! I don't want to miss out!!

Janet, I just PM'd you back on the Metro Rail info. The Airport is as far west it goes. To me it's not that far from St. Charles, either is Westport, where the Sheraton is. But like I said in my PM, I am from CA where most things you drive to get to....and MO natives tend to think anything over 10 miles here is too far ! LOL

A, you're too funny.
Janet, I was just getting ready to say that the metro at the airport is about 10-12 minutes away (and not a super easy in and out...better to go farther down a couple stops in my opinion) and the Sheraton at Westport DOES seem far. From the base hotel it would take about 12-15 minutes probably. So it's up to you. The "activities" that are planned are all out here near the hotel (except for zoo and science center if people want to go there) so it just depends on what works out for you guys.
Glad you're coming, though, no matter where you stay! But it would be so nice to have you right here with the gang. |

A, it's relative... I don't think that's far to visit someone or go to an appointment, but to be away from the hotel and have to make trips back for this or that, it would seem far to me. That's all. But since I live a mile from the hotel, it's not like I have to worry about it!! |

A cell phone list sounds like a great idea!
I am so excited that Tara is coming! Many of you may recall that Tara and her family had a chance encounter with Jacey last summer at the Arch before Tara knew she was carrying a baby with Ds... Vada and Jacey are forever linked now!!
Tara - Don't be nervous!! I don't "know" anyone either, unless Jackie decides to go, but I feel like I "know" everyone - kwim???
A - I'm with you on the 10-15 minutes not being too far... I think we will probably stay at the Sheraton (have to check w/ DH first), and just tote whatever we might need in the car. I am not sure what all is planned, but I may just need to change Jacey, or change myself for dinner or something, but hopefully someone will let us borrow their room for a few minutes if we need it.....

I live in the wrong part of the states.
