How do you make it stop? When she comes upstairs in the morning looking 3 years older, and I ask her if someone gave her something while she slept. She just crinkles her nose up at me at laughs.


If we go to to the park, that is not a little girl on the swings anymore.


In fact, she she rarely asks to go to the park now.

At night, she takes herself downstairs to dress for bed, then hollers up the stairs, "I'm ready!" which is my cue to come down to tuck her in. But a few days ago she stood at the top of the stairs, poised to make her trip down to change into her PJ's. "Goodnight mom. See you in the morning." I am no longer welcome in the bedtime routine.


She has a new agenda now, and it doesn't always involve me. In fact, most of the time it does not!


She has her eye out for other things...


other adventures...


And possibly other...ehem..."people"

I've just had a taste of that feeling myself this summer. My girl's only 10, and I want the world to stop turning so she doesn't grow up so fast!!!
