Our Down Syndrome community in Central Texas suffered a huge loss this week. I lost a dear friend and we lost an advocate for our children. Lori was a 39 year old mother of 3. She had surgery last Friday to repair a leaky valve in her heart and suffered complications. She passed away on Thursday. Her girls are only 7, 6, and 3. Lori started several education programs for children with DS in our community. She also spent time and resources educating dr's, teachers, and parents. I cannot even begin to list everything Lori has done for our children and community. Lori has touched many people and will be greatly missed!!!! Please say a prayer for her husband Adam and her daughters. Her middle daughter, Hannah, is 6 and has DS.

We heard about this through our local DS group whose director was friends with Lori... SOOOO sad.... I've been praying for the family this past weekend, and will continue to do so...
