HEY!

We're coming back!

But we have to do it economy style!

Does anyone fancy putting us up for a couple of days or so?

And tell me where are the best places to go? Last time we went to Philly, Lancaster, New York and Washington DC. We met some amazing people from Downsyn and had the most amazing time.

We'd love to see all those same people again as we welcomed with open arms, but are thinking of getting an internal flight, maybe to Florida, or to California to check out the beaches?

Or is there somewhere else worth visiting? Or that we could drive to from any of those areas? We will have a hire car. But bear in mind, coming from UK, anything more than 2hrs is a LONG drive!!! I wish your country wasn't so big! Sad

Anyway, looking forward to hearing from you all!

PS - Yes, I am cheeky!

WOW....How exciting! For obvious reasons I can't help with accomodation LOL...but I can highly reccommend California.....it's beautiful and my daughter who was almost 4 at the time loved it! Lots of wide open spaces and more than plenty for both kids and adults to do!

I'm in California!!!! Actually we live in the "armpit" of Cali so you wouldn't be interested in our place (Fort Irwin) but we are only 3 hours from San Diego and 3 hours from Las Vegas. Smack dab in the middle. I wish we lived closer so we could accommodate you but we're here if you think of something we can do for you...
Oh, Sea World and the San Diego zoo...pure bliss!!!

Is this when you're going to try to see Dr. Capone? If so then I would stay on the East coast! Do you have an idea when you're coming yet? I'm determined to see you this time! It might be difficult for us though, since this is our "year of international travel" and we're going to be all over the place! I sure hope we can pull it off!

If you're on the East Coast, I'll find my way to you! Smile We're about 90 minutes from Manhattan, and three or so hours from both Philadelphia and Boston (ok, so maybe Boston is closer to four, but who's keeping track?!?!).

Helen,

We live about 10 hours west of D.C. - not too far from Dayton, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis. If you end up coming toward the middle of the country, we would love to host you and your family!

I know it's a longshot and that it makes much more sense for you to stay on the east coast, but I just had to offer!

Kim

If you are going to see Dr. Capone and want to take a flight to see beaches then it is Florida. The beaches in Florida are amazing.

What time of the year will you be visiting? If it is the summer then we have beaches right here on Long Island although the water isn't quite as warm as Florida. Or you could go to the Jersey Shore. Maybe you can run into Snooki or The Situation. Laughing

Awww. Thank you everyone!

We're planning to come mid-May and stay about 3 weeks until beginning of June. And probably flying to JFK airport. So we're going to have to really sort out a kind of itinerary of what we're doing!

It would be great to see Dr Capone and get his insight on Matt. The only thing is, will we have to pay, do you know? I'm still unemployed, and it's my compensation/redundancy money that will be paying for our trip. Seeing Dr Capone should be a priority for us though.

I guess I'll have to email him or something?

Helen,

I would love to meet you and your family when you're here this time. Not sure it will happen, but keep us updated on your itinerary and maybe some of us can make the trip to see you!

(Tom is referring to characters on a popular reality show called Jersey Shore. I've never actually seen the show, only heard the hype. http://www.mtv.com/shows/jersey_shore/season_2/series.jhtml )

You can probably find episodes of Jersey Shore on either youtube or the MTV website. It is beyond awful. It is mostly idiots who drink a lot. But it is hysterical.

Helen, we are in RI....in between Stephanie in PA and Boston (closer to Boston). We would love to host you and your beautiful family!!! If you are flying into JFK...that's about 3 hours from us. If RI works into your plans...consider yourself a guest of ours!! We have a house similiar to Stephanie and can offer our entire lowel level to you.

We are in the middle of a kitchen remodel....but it 'should' be finished by May. LOL. If not, my hair will be grey by the time you get here!!

We live in Maryland about 30-40 min outside DC. We'd love to have you but we have 6 people in a 3 bedroom townhouse. We have a sleeper sofa in the basement but no bathroom down there Smile My brother in law works for a hotel near us-he always give us really good deals on rooms. If you'd like, I'd ask him about what he could do for you.

Those people stuck in between you and me don't really know what beaches are. I don't blame them, they just don't know any better. I'm not much of a beach person, myself, but I do know a good beach from er, Florida.
We have waves, and the water is cool, and the Sun sets over it in the evening. . . well, I guess half of Florida does that, too.
I'm just saying.
I'm not equipped to put you up, but I'd be delighted to show you San Diego.
NYC is awesome, and there's lots to see back East. Out West, though, you won't be constantly be hounded by reminders of your dark, colonial past.
I'm just saying.
They have trees. We have awesome desert vistas and National Parks and places where you can see for a hundred miles.
I'm just saying.
Very Happy

Jeff, you know what? I would so much love to see you... you sure you can't fly over to NYC and come meet us, and stay with Tom and meet all the rest of the Downsyn family? Cos they're lovely people and friendly and hospitable and all that, and they have huge yards most of them! And the weather's warm and some of them have chipmunks and baby sparrows and big swing sets and water ice. And really good curry houses, and cider and we want to see you... I'm just saying!

And to Sam's mum - that definitely sounds like an idea... Will get back to you. Thanks! x

And to Lisa! Yes please, I remembered your offer from before. I'd love to see you and your huge man! And your little man and Elainah! And a whole basement! Wow! Your houses are so big!

And Annie - PLEASE, please come visit us! That would make our day!

I was looking today - USA has like 280 million people. In UK we have almost 60 million. And your country must be at least 10 times the size of ours! We just don't have the space you do. No wonder everything seems so much more 'spread out' over there!

Well, I would invite you to come to the MIDWEST for a change!!! We have more shoreline in Minnesota than all of Florida! It's not ocean, it's all LAKES! You can't hardly cross a road without seeing a lake with a beach. LOL

We also don't have Disney, but we have great zoos, and the Mall of America 5 minutes from me (which I happen to think is way over rated. LOL) and amazing forests and parks, and things like that.

But coming to the midwest doesn't put you in close proximity to Dr Capone, and I know you really want to see him. I would email him AS SOON as you know when you're coming, unless you're planning your trip around seeing him. They usually schedule those visits many months out!!!! Emailing him now would be a good idea.

Leah, again, we'd love to see you too. But it's even starting to look like Florida is unlikely. Just a flight down there would be over 1000 ($700) and about the same just to get in the park. TBH, I think I'd prefer to just spend more quality time in one area and seeing all you guys. Really hope you can come over our way and meet up with us...,

But just out of interest, how far are you, by road, from DC/NY, etc?

Well, Angela and I made it in 24 hours, but she is a fantastic traveler and hardly ever has to stop! LOL It's probably really a 2 day drive. We will try to come out there. It will all depend upon what happens with our adoption. I'm praying we can do it since we weren't able to pull it together the last time you were here.
