OK as of now I'm planning the Downsyn dinner for Saturday night... here's why:
While the conference runs from Friday-Sunday, the only sessions held on Friday are the pre-conference sessions... you have to pay more for these. Last year Friday was pretty dead... most of the vendors were still setting up, and people were flying in and then going to their rooms to get unpacked and settled... A LOT of people didn't even fly in till late Friday night or Saturday morning. So a Friday dinner would be hard. On Sunday the conference ends around 1:00 and people usually fly out Sunday afternoon or evening, so a Sunday dinner would be hard.
This leaves Saturday... here's the catch:
Saturday night is the NDSC banquet... it's formal dress and quite expensive. I didn't go last year because it was just me and Kennedy and it just seemed like a waste of money. I heard everyone had a good time though.
SO while I hate to make people miss out on the banquet, it's really the only logical night to do the downsyn dinner, and of course if you REALLY want to go to the banquet then you don't HAVE to come to the dinner! LOL
Do you all agree with this??? Do you think Saturday night is the most logical? Or should we try to do it some other time???

Renee- I like the Saturday Night Dinner idea. With the kids being there too, I am not so sure I want to go to a fancy dinner. And you know I am not putting on a formal gown...LOL!
So count me in for Saturday Night!!!!

Is the banquet thing an additional cost fromt he tickets? We have "Free" tickets and the certificate states for the convention??? Do you know? I like the dinner idea-although I would love to go to the fancy dinner-only to people watch I would rather eat with you guys...even though we live near Atlanta, we are staying at the hotel...I hope it is worth the stay....

Michele, I need you to call me please!!! I can't find your number!
Yes the banquet is in addition to the conference... I can't remember what the price was last year, but I remember thinking NO WAY! LOL

We went to the dinner the first time we went to the conference. I think we managed to stay for 30 minutes before Mikey insisted on leaving. It was a big waste of money.
It is definitely worthwhile to stay at the Hotel where the conference is. You get to see the action much more that way.

Saturday night dinner sound good to me. We are not banquet people so we would skip that regardless.
Looking forward to it already.
