Tomorrow Hayden has a play-based assesment for the school district. He will start school in May. For some reason I am really nervous about this. Can anyone tell me their expierence with this? What should I expect? He is feeling better but is still not completely 100% from his hospital stay (still on antibiotics). Do you think this will make a big difference?

Callum has had 1 assessment so far and has another 3 scheduled

The first one was a psychological eval, Callum did a couple of activities first and then he played while we answered some questions. It lasted about 40 minutes and went very smoothly.

His next is with the school psychologist next Monday, then one with the OT, ST and PT and finally one for APE. Callum is still receovering from his T&A so I'm hoping that he'll be better by then. My biggst concern with Callum's is that his big group evaluation is being done at 2pm and usually he sleeps between 12pm and 2:30pm so I have a feeling that he's going to be cranky and not very cooperative. The only time they do these evaluations is between 1pm and 3pm so 2 was the latest we could go.

I hope the evaluation goes well, let me know what happens.

Well, like Callum's, the first one lasted like 40 minutes. He did ok. The next one is April 6th. They said it will last about 3 hours. It sounds the same as Callum's. It is with the school psychologist, ST, OT, andour ECI coordinator. Luckily, ours is at 11:00. They told us to bring a lunch for him though. I hope Callum's goes well!! Let me know how it goes. I don't know about you but I feel really sad. Hayden is just to small to go to school already.
