Ok guys, please forgive me, but as you all know Karli's my first and I'm still learning a lot. We're going to the convention and I'm so excited to get to meet all of you! So far I've got our room booked at the hotel, I'm still working on the flights. Anyway, here are my questions. We've traveled a lot with Karli, but only in the car. Plus, we've not flown a ton, so I don't know all the ins and outs of traveling, just enough to get me by. What do we need to bring for her? I'm wondering more in the aspect of a stroller, carseat, etc? We have a little umbrella stroller that would be fairly easy to travel with, but the carseat? I'm planning on just having her ride in my lap for the flight, so can we check the stroller and carseat with our luggage? Do we even need a carseat? We're not renting a car, but I'm worried about the trip from the airport to the hotel and if by chance we take a cab somewhere. We'll need a carseat for her then. Sorry for all the rambling. I know it's still months off, but I'm a planner and little things like this worry me. Any travel advice you have would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Shylo

You can check your stroller at the gate. I'd bring something that she's going to be comfortable in even if it does weigh a little more.
How much does Karli weigh? I've seen this car seat in the one step ahead catalog http://www.onestepahead.com/jump.jsp?itemID=313766&itemType=PRODUCT&lGen=detail&iMainCat=117&iSubCat=86212&iProductID=313766&change=117 It only weighs 4 lbs and can be carried in your suitcase and used for taxi rides. It's for kids who weigh between 25 & 40 lbs.
I'm pretty sure that taxis are exempt from the car seat laws but you could always try calling a few taxi companies ahead of time and see if any of them have car seats already fitted.
Have fun, I wish I was going!
