Hi ~ I am the single mother of two children, both biological, both beautiful, both with Down syndrome. I am looking for someone, anyone else who has two children with Down syndrome. My daughter, Mikayla, is 9 and my son, Nathan, is 4 (turning 5 in July). Both have standard
Trisomy 21 not translocation. It would be nice to be able to talk with another mother or father who is in the same situation that I am. I love them both dearly and they have both given me the direction my life is to take. I would love to chat with all of you ~ but searching for another family who is as unique as mine.

I will post more information about my little stinkers at another time ~ I need to get them to bed!!!! Thanks to all and God Bless each one of you. We are all so blessed. Smile

I have a friend in our Ds group who has 2 biological children with Down syndrome, one is regular Trisomy 21 and her name is Megan and she is 6, and Andrew is 9 and he has Translocation Ds. If you want I can give her your email address. Her name is also Jennifer. Just let me know. She'd be more than happy to talk with you.

And Cynthia has 3 children with DS. Two biological with translocation and her youngest...adopted with T21! The new mom with twins is Stacy.

A big welcome to this site.

I'm Linda, Robert's Mom.
I don't have two kids with DS but I do have a niece with DS, my sister's child Kellie Annie. She is 4.5 years and Robert has just turned 2! Both kids have T21.
Big shock for my sister with Kellie, less so for John and myself with Robert. In fact I feel we we're very lucky to have Robert.

There are a few moms on this site with siblings with DS kids.

My sister in law has a brother Jim, with DS. He's in his mid thirties.
And my brother in law has a sister Olive, with DS. She was 40 last year!

Nice to meet you....I'd love to hear more about Makayla and Nathan.

Hi Jennifer,

Our Clara is an only child, but we still feel our family is incomplete. We've often wondered if there are families out there with more than one child with DS but no translocation, and if this was possible for us.

My main concern with the DS has been watching my baby struggle medically. That was my biggest fear and the reason I had amnio. I wanted to have all resources available to her at delivery in case she had a bad heart,etc. I've waited 40 years for this little girl, so I could care less about anything other than her being happy and healthy. To be honest, I fear another preemie more than another DS baby.

Thanks for your posting, I'll be peeking in from time to time to see what replies you get. God bless, I hope you get the support and info you're looking for.

Hi there!

Welcome to the board!

There is a multiples group on Yahoo Groups (multiples with down syndrome or for people who have twins, triplets, etc. where one has down syndrome). I know of one woman who has 2 girls with down syndrome. Check out that yahoo group though.

Hi Jennifer and welcome aboard. I have seven children total and two of my seven have DS T21. Sam who is 9 years old and Katarina who is 4 years old. As for me, I just have the one, but I have a friend with 2 children with DS.

Her little boy is 3, and her daughter will be 1 next month. These are her only children. She's not on this board, but I'm sure she'd be keen to talk to you.

Hi nice to meet you, I have to say your the first family I know of who has two biological siblings with DS that aren't twins, expect theres more though.
