My son is 2-1/2 months old and he has an appointment Sept. 5th to be examined for different types of therapies he needs right now. Is he too young for this...or should I have started earlier? I'm worried that I may have taken too long to do this....I'm new to this and I feel like time is being wasted while I'm waiting for his appointment. Is there any suggestions on things I can do with him at home that can help stimulate him? He has quite a developing problem with tongue protrusion and I know that with early intervention this can be nipped in the bud. Any advice on what I can do to at least start the process of working on this?
I really need some advice...

Samantha, I think that he is about the right age. You are doing fine. Just make sure that the people who do the evaluation show you how to do the exercises needed to help him. To me, if they are qualified to give an eval then they should be able to show you what to do when they are not there to work with your baby. Heather, if you have another child then you have an idea of what to do. Help them learn to roll, slightly nudge one leg over (alternate sides), lay on belly and try to prop him on his elbows. Make him work. I know Courtney was very lazy, and she did cry when I would work with her but I just told myself that it was for the better. When she realized that I wasn't going to give up, she gave in and worked hard and was more determined than me. Keep us informed on how the evals go. Good luck!!
