Well, I spoke to Matt's paediatrician today, and told her basically what I told you guys, and she too is concerned.
So later this month, we are starting the assessment process re Matt and autism. He's not a surefire yes, but he's definitely not a no either.
They think, at this early stage, he is showing many traits of an ASD, but at the same time, he's not showing all of them.
So we wait and see, and hope that school will make some difference - though my expectations aren't high.
Thought you'd want to know
Cheers

Great! It's just good to know that it's going to be looked into - it's better than just wondering and making yourself upset! Looking forward to the evaluation results.

You and Matt have been on my mind and in my heart ever since I read your post. I am happy to hear that testing will be done.
Many hugs to you both! Good luck!

An early diagnosis is a good thing. Early intervention can really help with ASD.

Helen
That's good news that you mentioned your concerns with the Paed doctor and you are taking it further.
You'd never have peace in your mind or your heart if you didn't get Matt checked out. I believe you are doing the right thing.
Please keep us posted......big hugs to you my friend....it takes courage to do the right thing at time!

Be thinking of you and praying until Matt has his assessment. Don't forget to mention the glue ear it does make a difference to a child's presentation.

I too think it's a good thing to look into it further like you are doing. There is nothing wrong with some good old "checks and balances". And beyond another DX... even if you don't get an ASD DX out of it.. it's good to do this for educational purposes. If a child is showing some traits but doesn't have an ASD DX... those traits could still get in the way of learning So.. either way.. this is good it's getting checked out.
Keep us posted!!! And good luck with it all!

Helen sorry you couldn't make it to the S&Lt surgery I organised ( I've booked you in for a fortnight though )
I really think it will help you seeing this lady. I have only seen her twice now but she has done wonders for Hannah
She also thinks that Hannah has global delay ( I'd not heard of it before ) it can manifest itself if the child has a brain injury ( Hannah was starved of oxygen at birth abit that is why she had emergency caesarian ) so this could be another reason for us
Global delay gives off autistic traits too
