Last winter a few of you raved about a lotion that took care of the red/dry cheek problem. If I am remembering correctly, it was an Aveno product. I would like to prevent the problem this year. Can anyone tell me exactly what type of lotion works.
Thanks!!

I USE THE AVEENO LOTION FOR EXTREME DRY SKIN AND ECZEMA. IT IS THE ONE WITH THE DARK BLUE TOP AND IS KIND OF HARD TO FIND. IT WORKS GREAT. I USE IT DAILY TO PREVENT DRY SKIN AND HEAT RASH, ETC.

we have used Aquaphor for two winters......doesn't work for us. I cancelled a family photo sitting before Christmas last year because his cheeks were so chapped.

Well, if Aquaphor doesn't work, maybe you would be interested in a cream I found at Wild Oats. It is called Florasone Cream and says it relieves itching, eczema, inflammation and rashes. I used it on Kepler's eczema and it did go away. The active ingredient is cardiospermum.
Another of my children gets bad contact dermatitis in the winter on his hands. Aquaphor hasn't made that go away, so I will be trying the Florasone this year to see if that helps.

Maysons cheeks have already started getting chaped due to drooling and being out in the cold during ungodly amounts of soccer games.... anyway, someone said to try olive oil because its natural and wont hurt them if they rub it on their hand and get in their mouth.. iam gonna try it!!!!!

I should use it as preventative but I always seem to wait till her cheeks are red and chapped, but we use Mustela Hydra-bebe. It works like a charm for us. We get it in Bath and Body Works. Our ped recommeneded the line to us. We initially used it for craddle cap (worked AWESOME...in one use) and so we also use the cream and diaper rash ointment.

Aquaphor never worked for us either. One of the parents at Jaymes day care recommended the Huggies Extra Sensitive lotion. Works like a charm in clearing up his dry skin and his chapped cheeks!

vaseline. I used everything on Erika and found that this clears and prevents faster than anything for her. Very light coat and I usually only applied twice a day with once being at bed. The first time I used it was because a lady at pre shcool suggested it ( I thought ugh who wants that greasy stuff on thier face) Erikas cheeks were clear in two days.

Oh, I forgot. When Angela has a psoriasis spot that's not responsive to the Aquaphore, then I use a very thin coat of desitin on it. Yes, even if it's on her face. (I do it at night when she's sleeping!) works like a CHARM! Just please don't tell her I put butt cream on her face. LOL

It is aveeno extra soothing lotion. It works like a charm. I put it on Marley's cheeks and it clears up any skin problems she has. It is especially good for clearing up skin irritation from drooling.
