Oh, I have lots of questions for you. I guess I will be nice and not ask you anything too tough.
How long ago did you give up the flight attendant job?
Did you go to college? If so, what was your major?
What annoys you?
What is your best golf score?
What is your best concert you attended?
What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
What is your favorite food and drink?
Do you play other sports other than golf?
Kayla

Wow I am honored! I will try and answer these honestly but please remember that I am a TOTAl smartass.
-What are your favorite TV shows? I love Nip/Tuck and Law and Order which I have narrowed down to Criminal intent. I watch LOST with Chase and now he and I both are hooked on the stupidity of the girls on The Bachelor. Andy, Chase and I get into bed at night and watch 2 episodes of King of Queens? I think that is the right name. Andy loves that show and both he and Chase think the couple is a dead on immitation of Andy and I. I hate to admit it but I think they are right.
-Favorite movie? Gosh..this one is hard. I have a couple so I'll list them. Sling Blade, Team America, Shawshank Redemption, Fargo, BraveHeart, Bad Santa, and Gone With The Wind.
-Favorite book? "Letters to Nicholas" James Patterson and "The Stand" Stephen King
-Favorite thing to do in your free time? Summer: golf and golf with Chase. Winter: Read and tennis indoors with Chase
_________________
How long ago did you give up the flight attendant job? Chase was 2 when I quit so 8 yrs. I miss it everyday and still love the smell of an aircraft. I was the happy FA who gave away anything if a passenger said please and thank you. Made me learn patience and that not everything goes according to plan. Also to be nice no matter what the circumstance. *unless you were drunk or we were in trouble*
Did you go to college? If so, what was your major? Good ole University of Illinois. LAS or lost at school.
What annoys you? Wow now theres a long list ![Smile](../phpbb2/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) Smacking lips so there is not much gum chewing in our house. Whistling would be right up there too! Those are easy ones. People who try and take advantage of others for their own gain. Those who want to complain and complain and yet do nothing to help their situation. The biggies are being selfish, cheaters and predjudice.
What is your best golf score? 81
What is your best concert you attended? TOM PETTY in Memphis!
What is the craziest thing you have ever done? On a layover in Vancouver we had 33 hours. There were 9 of us that flew together for 3 months solid on a DC-10. So we rented cars and drove everywhere to visit and party. One thing we did was visit the nude beach. So imagine 9 naked FA's crawling up this giant hill, thank God I was first in line, and hanging out all day with complete strangers. Man did I LAUGH that day.
That and I jump into freezing cold water every year for the Special Olympics.
What is your favorite food and drink? I love PB&J on toast with ice cold milk.
Do you play other sports other than golf? I play tennis and run. Do you consider watching Soap Operas a sport?
What is your least favorite food? Mushrooms
What is your favorite cartoon character? Cartman from South Park
What color would best describe your personality.. and why? Man I don't know...I said that in a whining tone. Probably purple. Sometimes it's nice and sometimes it's mean.
If you could change your name.. what would it be? In high school I wanted to be Shelli or Christie so bad I COULD TASTE IT. Now I am cool with Amy. The only other person I have ever wanted to be was my grandmother so perhaps the correct answer would be Violet.
In what ways are you like your own mother that you like, and in what ways are you like your own mother that you dislike?
Would give anyone anything at anytime should they be in need. I love this about her. She remembers little things and will secretly give them to the person. She is generous to a fault and has a terrific sense of humor. She handed those things on as well as......
Impulsive at times and going overboard with spending. I had to learn a long time ago to control that. I was a single mother for 5 years and there was no one to help if I got into financial trouble. So I learned to spend within my budget and if I could not afford it...I didn't buy it or I saved.
That sense of humor can bite both ways. I have had to learn that not all people can take humor. I also say it like it is just like mom but I have learned to temper that so as to not to be unkind.

How did you and your husband meet? Andy and I were friends for a very long time. We first met on the golf course at his country club and he was married. I loved his wife and knew her well. I was a single mother and Chase was only 2. I was dating someone in Kansas at the time. Andy and his wife divorced and it was painful as we all hung out in the same large group. Picture Andy heavy with platinum blonde hair, long and slicked back. Necklaces, bracelets and 3 earrings, Depeche Mode playing in his 2 door sports car. Fast forward to a year later. This crew cut darked headed man, so cute and thin, 3 earrings and I asked...."who is that with Jason" and my girlfriend said..."Aim that is ANDY" He asked me to go to a wedding and I did and sent him on his way. I wasn't done dating a$$holes and I couldn't get past that he was just a friend. Long story short he hung in there with me and I realized that he was kind, loving and would never ever hurt me or Chase. (and he was hot ![Wink](../phpbb2/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) ) We met, dated, got engaged and married on a golf course! (he gave up the sports car when he realized it didn't work with dating a mom and the earrings went away about an hour before he met my father)
How did you decide on your children's names? Chase's father chose his first name and his middle name is Larkin. Larkin Murphy is a continuation of my great-grandfather Larkin Timothy Murphy. It was important to me that my children share a name because their last names are different.
How close is your house to another? I see my neighbor on the South side and the one on the West side I can't see because those windows are either bathrooms or upstairs. We LOVE our neighbors on the South side, in fact he is Larkin's Godfather. Other then that we live across the street from a park.
Do you live close to where you grew up? I live close enough to drive to them and far enough to keep them out of my business. 45 min
whats your biggest dream? To have another child
what was your last dream/wish come true? Larkin Murphy Armstrong
where is the farest u have traveled? Out of the US I have gone to Europe and I have seen all of the United States.
where is the best place u have ever been? Again...too many answers. For religious reasons, Europe. To know there is a God, Alaska. For repairing my soul, Mirival in Arizona, For fun with girlfriends, Chicago and for love, safety and comfort....HOME.

How Long have you been Married? Andy and I have been married for 4 years this past August.
What is the one thing that keeps your Marriage strong? PRAYER/FAITH
Any more Kids in the Furture? I really want one more but it just takes such a toll on my body trying to get there. No more drugs, no more IVF's. I may consider IUI's here pretty soon but that is an invasive as I am willing to be.
I am terrified to have another though. DS is not even on my radar of worry...there are so many other things that can go wrong and that is just in pregnancy! You all know these feelings.

OK Amy, your answer about places you have been made me cry...
Sooo are you a cryer?
What kind of car do you drive?
What brand of golf clubs do you use?
Have you ever seen this website? I bought my grandmother the Sharon bag for her 75th birthday. Yellow is her favorite color!
http://www.kerigolf.com/
What does your DH do for a living?
I will think some more and come back...

Sooo are you a cryer? I cry easily. Things that make me happy make me sob. I cry a lot when reading posts here or laugh outloud. Sad or anxious moments I save for the shower so I can cry away and let the water rinse it all down the drain.
What kind of car do you drive? I traded in my Tahoe which I loved for a Toyota Sequoia. The Tahoe had bucket seats in the middle and I wanted a bench seat for her car seat.
What brand of golf clubs do you use? I use Callaway's. I learned using Cobra's but loved the oversized head on the Cally's.
Have you ever seen this website? I bought my grandmother the Sharon bag for her 75th birthday. Yellow is her favorite color!

Ummmm that website is perfect for your grandmother. ![Smile](../phpbb2/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) I carry my bag so I use a Ping double shoulder bag. I got it free as a prize in some outing. After having L, my back hurts most of the time so I use a push cart and walk.
What does your DH do for a living? Andy works with his father in their family business which is a Lumber Company. His grandfather started it about 65 years ago. He wanted to do Cardiac rehab with his degree.... but after going thru all of Larkins stuff I am not sure that would still be on his list.

Do you still have friends that you had from childhood? No. Isn't that weird. I was raised in a very strict religious upbringing so having friends outside of church was forbidden. I was the "weird" kid who couldn't go to dances or do normal kid stuff.
Any big regrets in life? My biggest regret is that I was raised in such an environment that it took me a very very long time to be able to function in the real world. I lost my childhood and everything that a kid should be able to do. However I learned a hard lesson with Larkin this way. It's the only thing that makes me cry over DS to this day...I know how it feels to be made fun of, feel different, and not be able to do things. I wanted for my children to have what I didn't. I never wanted my children to feel "different"....and look what God showed me....I am NOT the boss of him!
Is there anything in life that you really want to do and haven't yet? I want to dance in the rain under the Eiffel Tower with Andy.
Do you and Chase's dad get along? Well I suppose that depends on the day HA! Chase's father is an attorney, and while he forgot to stop dating while he and I were married, I have seen enough people use their children in a divorce that I swore that Chase would never ever know anything but love. So he and I work toward that goal daily. It's hard at times because I do not agree with his stance on many things BUT that is not the issue. Chase will figure out eventually by my leadership and parenting what is right and what is wrong. He needs his father and that is what is truly important. We never debate over days or holidays. We just work it out and do it with Chase in mind.
Are you and Larkin coming to Waterloo on Nov. 4th??? I talked it over with Andy last night and I am 95% sure that she and I are coming!

Ok, the big question - when Carson and Larkin get married, do you want them to live near you for the first 6 months or the second? ![Very Happy](../phpbb2/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) He is really into eating paper too so they have lots in common.

Modifications are not an option. It's their way or the highway.
if not, is there any problems the way raising your kids with your parents?
This religion practices shunning so at this point it's kind of like don't ask, don't tell. They respect that my husband is Catholic and has a different view. I keep my children at bay because Chase has come home and said that the tooth fairy is pagen and not real and so is santa claus. My ex-husband went ballistic. Chase was only 3 at the time so it was total crap that she did that to him. I cannot trust them to keep their ideas and opinions to themselves so I make sure that I am always with them when we are together with my parents.
if u could be a kid again, what would you like to do?
I would LOVE to be active in sports and be a cheerleader. I would pay more attention at school. The religion really really pushes that you do NOT go to college and that school is not important.
how did u see you in 10 years? Chase in college, Larkin doing well in school and playing golf with Andy.
And for the record Ms. Kayla, you are going to have to move up North and try on Yankee talk. Ok I digress.....you can have them during the winter and I'll have em during the summer.
Andy is already looking at property and lot's in order to build her an area/home of her own alongside our's eventually.

I thought I was a yankee when I lived in VA. ![Laughing](../phpbb2/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif) Does that mean I get all the major holidays too. OK, we can alternate Thanksgiving and Christmas. ![Very Happy](../phpbb2/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) The warm weather will work well for them because we can golf all year round here. They can have LA winter golf and IL summer golf. I might just have to come with them- it gets really hot here.
How do your parents feel about the DS? Are they at all supportive of you and Miss L?
Do you wear the gaudy old lady golf outfits when you play at "the club"?

How do your parents feel about the DS?
They were very very sad. Sad for me because they knew how badly I wanted a baby and how hard we tried. They wanted it to be "perfect". They are learning though and my mother is coming to terms with being polite and using correct words. I think she grieved for me because I didn't grieve. I just went on with life.
Are they at all supportive of you and Miss L?
They are. Both of them are in their 70's and are very active with church things. My home open to anyone who stops by. Andy's parents are more hands on because they are in town. His mom was having a very hard time in the beginning trying to figure out why I was so strong about things. I realized then that she needed to come to my home, without a reason, and spend time with L. I told her anytime. Come in, hold her and see what I see. See that she is just a baby. My mom is amazed every time she sees Larkin because she is progressing so well. I honestly think that in her mind she was thinking I had an invalid on my hands.
Do you wear the gaudy old lady golf outfits when you play at "the club"?
Now that is damn funny girl! I wear what I like to call my "camp counselor" outfit. Khaki shorts and white t-shirt. The older women I play with like to have matching EVERYTHING, even their SOCKS! I am lucky if I get my teeth brushed and hair up in a knot. Fashion and material items are not my strength.
Did you want to be a flight attendant when you grew up or did you have other plans?
I didn't even dream of being a FA. My ex-husband's partner's wife flew for American. I was in between jobs and he suggested I go to one of the cattle calls that airlines do. I went to the one in Chicago that United had. I still can't believe I got the job. It was an amazing job that let me see the world and realize that I am just an itty bitty goldfish in a big pond.
I don't know that I ever had a plan. I knew that I wanted children and to be loved unconditionally. I found both.
If you were an animal, what would you be? A Jackass. Now that made me laugh. Ummmm....I think I would make a good Monkey.

Well while running the risk of offending someone here, my parents are devout Jehovah Witnesses. I do not wish to begin a debate nor do I wish to be lectured if someone has a differing opinion on how great it may be. I am only giving my side of how it affected me and my life. There were some good things that came out of being raised this way but for the most part it was isolating and I feel robbed of a childhood and choices in life.

I'm still thinking that you need the yellow golf bag to go with the yellow bermuda shorts and the white shirt with the yellow trim and the yellow socks to go with it. We can call you Amy Parnavick. Oh, I almost forgot, little pompom club covers in yellow of course.
What is your favorite wine?
Do you watch sports on TV? If so what kind and what team do you support?

What is your favorite wine? Onto the FUN questions! I like Bella Serra Pinot Grigo. Having a small glass right now my friend. Cheers to YOU.

I like watching Illini Basketball when we don't go to the games here or they are out of town. The football team makes my eyes bleed right now, it hurts to watch them ![Wink](../phpbb2/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) I like watching any Big Ten team (even Iowa)
I like to watch golf on lazy Sunday afternoons and Chase and I will tune into the Cubbies or White Sox.
