In chapter 101, Christopher introduces us to the Monty Hall problem. Did you understand the problem? Would you have guessed correctly? Did it make sense to you when he explained it?

I would never have guessed that the problem would come out like that, but the way Christopher explains it makes it perfectly clear.

I have to admit that at first I thought that Christopher had to be wrong. My first thought on the problem was that it should be 50-50. In fact, I had read about this problem a couple of years before I read about it in this book and I wrote to the author of the article saying that they had to be wrong. An hour later, after thinking it over, I had to write back to them to apologize because I realized that they were right.

I have to admit that at first, I didn't get at it. I had to think about it, and reread a little bit, too. But then when the light clicked (and eventually it did) I loved it. It was a very concrete way for me to understand something about the way my mind works, and the way a person with autism's mind might work, and how we might be different. I thought it was cool!
