My friends daughter had pain in her shoulder a couple of months back...they finally took her to the Dr and she had a major staph infection that was eating through the bone....they performed surgery to remove the staph. Well a couple of weeks ago, she complained of pain in her other shoulder...and then she fell and it turns out she had staph in her other shoulder and the fall caused her to break it. Apparently she will be having surgery again and then chemo for 6 months.....
They are out of their minds with worry....she didnt tell me actual diagnosis so I was wondering what it may be...if anybody here is familiar??? Apparently it only affects 1 in 250,000 people???
Please say prayers....they are so scared but are being brave for her. her name is Mandee. Thanks everyone!

About 15 yrs ago when I belonged to PWP (Parents without Partners) I had a friend who had a 13 yr. old son who had some kind of very rare disorder of the bones. He would get infections in them and had to have a port in his chest so they could give him IV antibiotics and other medicine for a long period of time at home. They even had to amputae part of his foot. I don't know what it was called and I no longer know what happened to him as his mother died after having a seizure and his father took custody and moved out of the area. I don't know if is the same thing this young girl is dealing with. I do hope they are able to stop it's progression.
