Does anyone have any tips/tricks to get hippotherapy covered by insurance. We would love to have Olivia do this, but its $200 a month and that is more than we can spend. We're hoping we can get insurance to cover some of it. Thanks.

If the person doing the therapy is a licensed physical therapist then try to claim it as physical therapy.

We are thinking about trying it with Matthew once he gets used to the new preschool routine and were told the doctor should write a script for PT or OT since those are the two types of therapists where we are looking. They said the script should not say hippotherapy or equine therapy.
