Mark goes to Hershey Med Center tomorrow for a Meckel's imaging study to check for Meckel's diverticulum. I am requesting prayers that the procedure can be done - they will be injecting him with dye and it is very difficult to find a vein on him and also he has to be very still in order to be able to do the xray correctly(not likely to happen unless they sedate him which they don't plan to do ). I am also asking for prayers that they find something! I know it seems silly to pray to find something, but this would be fixable and would explain many of his symptoms - he has been in a lot of pain lately, he is anemic and has blood in his stool. Thanks in advance for the prayers.
2nd update - They have scheduled Mark for an endoscopy and colonoscopy for this Wednesday! I am very impressed with how quickly they got him scheduled - I am praying that they will find the source of the blood and that it will be minor and fixable! Thanks!!
Final update - Just wanted to say thank you for your prayers - Mark's endoscopy/colonoscopy showed nothing significant. The biopsies showed no infections and no celiac disease. They are giving him iron supplement to hopefully help with the anemia while we try to figure out why he is bleeding and anemic.

I understand what you mean. I have had so many tests that came back negative but I still have issues and there are no answers. Will pray.

I'm praying here. Dorothy had the Meckel's diverticulum. We had gone in to have a swallow study done due to aspirating on liquids and the doc happened to notice that the flow of the barium was not right and realized that she had a malrotation of her intestines. She was scheduled for the Ladd procedure to fix the malrotation and while they were in there they found the diverticulum. So they fixed that too. She didn't appear to have any symptoms from it that I know of. Anyway, praying that you get some answers and that Mark is nice and still for the test:)

Many many prayers being said.
I so know what you mean about..you just wish they would find something...It's so hard to see your child in pain and discomfort and the doc's keep saying they have no idea. Going through that right now with Austin.

Thank you for your prayers everyone - we are back and everything went so much better than I anticipated. They found a vein(after only 4 attempts) and they had a special weighted vest that held Mark still for the procedure. Once the scan started Mark fell asleep for the entire procedure(45 minutes!) He was such a trooper and I am very proud of him! We should get the results tomorrow. Keely, if this comes back positive I may have some questions for you. From what I have read about MD it usually does not cause symptoms, but when it does it is usually around age 2(Mark will be two in March) and it is usually the male patients that experience the pain - weird isn't it?

Awww, what a little trooper falling asleep. Brakes my heart to hear what our beautiful children have to go through at time. They are so much stronger than I would ever be. They must know that if they do good these doc will help them feel better. I just love alsl our children.

Results are back and Mark does not have a Meckel's diverticulum! Which I guess I have mixed emotions about, but anyway - now he will have an endoscopy and a colonoscopy hopefully next week so if you could continue to pray that would be great! I will update when I find out the date and time of the test! Thanks everyone!
