Perhaps you have noticed that the last column on the main forum page is titled "moderator" and that there is nothing in that column for any forum. Right now I am the moderator for all forums. The job of the moderator is to read all the posts, answer questions or help to find answers, make sure that the forum is active by starting threads when necessary, prevent "flame wars", move posts from one forum to another more appropriate forum, and delete posts that don't belong here at all (posts that are obscene, spam, or offensive). The moderator will have the authority to edit or delete any post in their forum. Obviously this can be fun but it can take a little bit of time every week.
If anyone is interested in being a moderator, let me know what forum you might be interested in moderating!

Hi Tom:
I'd be happy to moderate the Health Issues forum. Could I commit to 3 months, and then see how it goes? Or do you want someone for a set time-period?
By the way, I have a technical question for you, too. I was trying to listen to the song at the end of your resources list, so I hit the play button. I'm not getting any sound, though. I know we have a sound card because we get other sounds (like the ones Microsoft includes with their software, and the ones on my husband's games). CAn you help me out?

You can moderate the forum for as long or as short as you wish. If you don't want to do it anymore just let me know.

The fact that you can see the volume control on the web page tells me that you do have the plugin but for those who don't...
In order to play music from a web site, you must have a sound plug-in installed in your browser. Crescendo and MS Media Player are two examples. Go to the update site for whichever browser you use and look for browser plugins. Then look for audio/video plugins that support midi.
If that isn't the problem make sure that you have the volume turned up. If you have the Soundscape Mixer in your system tray (looks like a little speaker) make sure that you have the volume turned up for "volume control" and "synthesizer" and that none of the "mute" boxes are checked.

So, what do I need to do as moderator, and how do I do it? Never done it before...
Also, what's a "system tray" and where do I find it? Is it hardware or software...?

The system tray is the thing on the bottom right of the screen where the time is. There should be a couple of icons in there including, possibly, one that looks like a speaker.
You should be able to edit/delete any post, not just your own as long as it is in the forum you are moderating. If you have any problems, just send me a private message.

Tom,
I would like to try and moderate the General forum. I think I could learn a lot by helping other people try and find answers.
Let me know!!!!!
