Just want to clarify. Everyone talks of folic acid...and even extra doses when wanting to have a baby. Does a prenatal vitamin take care of the folic acid, or do you need a separate script?
Thank you

I believe my prenatal vitamins had the folic acid in them. I think, and I'm sure I will be corrected if I'm wrong, that you need the folic acid very early in the pregnancy, so if you are considering getting pregnant you should make sure you are getting enough folic acid before you are even pregnant.

My doctor told me that I was fine with the amount that was already in the prenatal. However, my friend had to take folic acid supplements in addition to prenatals because her body absorbed it differently. I would check with your doctor. I don't know if you can have too much...
