Hi Everyone..

My name is Leah and I live in Tasmania Australia as you can see by the topic.. My husbands name is Shayne and we have two sons Cooper aged 3 and Oliver aged 2.. Oliver has Downs and we've searched for a while now to find a lovely forum and at last we've found it..I really look forward to getting to know you all..

Welcome!! I think we have someone on here from all the Australian states now. I'm glad you found us! This is a fantastic forum, always very active and lots of wise and wonderful people with a wealth of knowledge and an endless capacity for support and friendship!

I'm from NSW, on the mid North coast. It's great to have another Aussie on here.

Wow ur family is just gorgeous..we're trying for number 6 plz tell me Im not mad! Laughing

Im looking forward to getting some much needed advice..Olivers just had his colostomy removed and his bowel rejoined because of Hirschprungs Disease plus he wont eat anything with the slightest lump in it..fingers crossed I get the help I need here Very Happy

Hi Leah,

Having a big family is WONDERFUL! I'm sure I would have had more if I had started a bit earlier! There are several others here who have had to deal with Hirschprungs, so I'm sure you'll be able to give and receive support here! Where in Tassie are you? I went there on my honeymoon and can't wait to go back one day. Cradle Mountain is a slice of heaven.

As for photos, you need to open an account with a photo hosting site. (most here use photobucket). Upload your photos there, then copy the IMG tag under the photo and paste it in your post (or the signature section of your profile if you want it to appear every time you post). You can preview your post before you submit it to check that you have done it right.

Looking forward to getting to know your family and hearing more about services in Tassie.

thanks so much for your help Nicola! We live on the far NW Coast of Tassie..Cradle Mountain is around 1 1/2 hrs drive from here and yes it is a slice of heaven..but Im a bit bias Very Happy

Hubby is really good with IT so when he gets home from work I will get him to help me with some pics because I really want to post pics of Oliver..hes just so beautiful..

As for services in Tassie I think we've been really spoilt..because I live in a little town Olivers got to have physio and OT every second Monday at Early Learning..hes never missed out because of large class sizes etc..my mother is the hydro therapist here so Ollies spent a lot of time in the water and now his colostomy's gone he can swim even more..our paediatrician and other specialists however are an hrs drive away but Oliver only sees the paediatrician every 6 to 8 months and of course his hearing and eye tests etc are only once a year..
